HERLUFSHOLM BOARDING SCHOOL (HERLUFSHOLM KOSTSKOLE)

Denmark's most prestigious school is situated in a beautiful location by the river Suså, between the parks of Klokker Kohave and Rådmandshave. The school was founded in 1565 by Admiral Herluff Trolle and his wife (who are buried in the chapel behind the altar) in a Benedictine abbey, whose nuns had just been expelled by the Reformation. The convent from the early 16th century no longer exists, the court buildings cannot be visited, but the church and the park are open to the public.
