The city of Moldova Nouă (12 350 inhabitants), a little north of the Danube river, is a gateway to the little reserve of Valea Mare with rare Mediterranean and subméditerranéennes essences such as the sycamore. In the surroundings, Moldova Veche is the port on the Danube of Moldova Nouă. Along the Danube River towards the east, you will reach the small village of Pescari. There you will find medieval ruins and a cave (Peştera Gaura cu Muscă) where cave drawings are still visible.
