This village northwest of Buzău, on the road to Nehoiu, is home to an open-air sculpture exhibition. The pleasant site features over 250 works, created in situ between 1970 and 1980, on the initiative of the Union of Plastic Artists. You'll recognize the great figures of Romanian history: Stephen the Great, Michael the Brave... The other local landmark, in the nearby forest, is the Ciolanu monastery, built in 1590, whose small museum boasts some fine icons. The buildings are arranged in a rectangle on the hillside. The monks' living quarters are particularly attractive. It is possible to sleep in the monastery.
