Curtea de Argeş (27,400 inhabitants) is a pleasant little town all in length, which has two unmissable monuments of Romanian history: the Princely Court, an elevated residence when the town was capital of Wallachia, from 1330, and the monastery, whose church with its sculpted white walls alone deserves an excursion from the capital. The town is also appreciated for its handicrafts, including ceramics, and for the surrounding countryside. It's easy to find your way around: everything can be found along or at the ends of the Boulevard Basarabilor. There you will find banks, post office, shops and restaurants.
