Situated at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, between the Bucegi mountains and the Baiului mountains to the east, Predeal (population 4,000) is surrounded by beautiful forests. It's a pleasant town, albeit a little distorted by construction in the second half of the 20th century. From Predeal, there are many chalets open all year round, as well as numerous ski slopes. Timişu de Sus, 5 km away, is a village where pretty traditional houses are still numerous.
