Pyongyang, North Korea's capital, is a rare model of communist city. Most of its monuments are dedicated to the glory of the Revolution and its Grand Leader Kim Il-sung. There are few truly old sites because of the destruction during the war and the megalomanial restructuring of this regime. However, the site has been occupied for a very long time and was a capital of the kingdom of Goguryeo. It is crossed by a 13-lane avenue, completely oversized in a city without private means of transport. As is a showcase of the country and its regime, it is very clean, physically and morally. We only see what we want to show us. It is a sort of anthem to order worth seeing because it is quite different from other Asian cities. Most monuments are on the banks of the Dadonggang River.Usually (unless you receive special authorities authorities), Pyongyang tours by car/bus during guided tours. You cannot travel alone, only ngos (in total 6) have the right to travel without escorts (guides). The tower is about the same for everyone, moreover you will often recycle the few tourists present at the same time as you on the forced passages.Among the monuments to see, there is the 170 m high Juche Tower dedicated to the ideology that leads the country's policy. We can climb up the top by a lift. The triumph of triumph marks the place where Kim Il-sung made his rally to release. He would do 3 m more than his Parisian counterpart. Nearby is the Kim Il-sung stadium, one of the world's largest. Near the river is the great monument, the giant bronze statue of the Grand Leader (30 m), which pays tribute to the sernissim. Behind it is the Korean Revolution Museum. In the West, the victorious war liberation war museum, which is devoted to fighting the Japanese, such as the hall of independence in Cheon-an, and also to the war «liberation of the homeland», that is, the Korean War (1950-1953), like the museum of the war in Seoul. It's interesting to compare the 2 versions, but as with all these museums, it's also scary. There are still other museums: the central museum of Korean history, dedicated to the history of origins in 1945, the art gallery and the exhibition of the 3 revolutions (ideological, technological and cultural). You can also see a show in the state circus. In the west of the center, Mangyeongdae is Kim Il-sung's birthplace, and he sees the bat in which he born and lived his first years. Some personal objects are also kept. The Daesongsan complex is located in the north-east of the city, where the large central botanical garden is located. Not to mention Kim Il-sung mausoleum located in Kumsusan's former presidential palace. Many North Koreans, including the inhabitants of Pyongyang, are taking the anniversary dates of the revolutionary calendar, gathering in front of the "dear leader". These gatherings give rise to long lines of expectations that continue far beyond the batiliar. During this visit, you will be asked to make a "dress effort". A place that won't leave you indifferent so much as it's impressive. Prepare to prostrate yourself in front of the eternal remains!During your visits you can also discover places like paradise market, a single market at Western prices, but you will not be able to visit local markets. The metro is a forced passage, despite all the different rumors about this subway, there is good and does not consist only of two stations… We went there and saw six, and it doesn't seem like actors like so much like to believe it.Outside Pyongyang is the tomb of Dan-gun that was discovered in 1993. This mythical figure would have reigned almost 4,000 years on a region that has nothing to do with the current Pyongyang. So it's certainly the creation of zealous archeologists.
