Its name means "the mountain of 5 peaks" and is borrowed from the mountains found in China. Here's the story: during the reign of Queen Seondeok of Silla, the monk Jajang went to China to study. On his return to Korea, he sought out a similar mountain to build temples. That's why there are 9 temples in this magnificent valley, including 2 famous ones: Sangwonsa and Woljeongsa. From Seoul, take a bus to Jinbu. It leaves every 4 hours or so. It's a 2-hour 15-minute drive at a cost of 19,000 to 27,000 won. Then take the express bus to the temples.
