Located about 30 km from Denpasar and about 10 km from Tabanan, this temple is one of the most famous in Bali. You will see it on all postcards presenting Indonesia. The temple is open until nightfall and as it is located on the west coast, you will be able to admire beautiful sunsets. Clinging to a rock, Tanah Lot is beaten by the waves at high tide, the picture is then magical. It would date from the 16th century.You can also come there in the morning, it is (much) quieter. To get there, you have to pass through an impressive number of shops of all kinds. Around 5 pm, it is crowded in high season.
