The word Pejeng shines for its famous "moon", a drum from the Dông Sôn period in North Vietnam. This drum can be seen in the Pura Penataran Sasih. Pejeng is the ancient capital of Bali, invaded and defeated by the Mojopahit empire in 1343. On the sightseeing front, don't miss Pura Pusering Jagat. This temple dates back to 1329. It contains a number of interesting pieces, including the Caturkaya. In a pavilion opposite the "Pejeng vase" pavilion, a lingam and a yoni, symbols of fertility, attract young couples who come here on pilgrimage. A wonderful visit for the whole family!
