This small village adjoins Ubud via Jalan Raya Sanggigan. Quiet, for those who want to get away from the nerve center of Ubud, Mas is inhabited mainly by many Brahmin families, traditionally woodcarvers. Every year (every 7 months), its temple of Taman Pule is the object of a pilgrimage of all the priests of the island and collects thousands of offerings. On this occasion, one can attend dances, including that of wayang parwa, very rarely represented in Bali. The sculptors, who originally made only ritual objects such as masks or statues for the temples, have now adopted a less overloaded style and more erotic themes
