About sixty kilometers east of Tan-Tan. This douar, hidden away in one of the last foothills of the Anti-Atlas, was home to Michel Vieuchange before he set out to conquer the last 300 km of desert separating him from Smara on his expedition in 1930. The house where he lived, known as the "Maison d'Afkhen Lhassen", still exists, albeit in a rather poor state of repair. This lively town of less than 1,000 inhabitants is a popular destination for those who like to get off the beaten track. You'll appreciate its authentic atmosphere and the warm welcome of its inhabitants. Many bivouacs are organized in the surrounding area.
