Small neoclassical palace in antique style, built in 1826 as a summer residence for the future Frederick William IV.
To the southwest of Sanssouci, this small neoclassical palace was commissioned in 1826 by the Crown Prince, the future Frederick William IV, to serve as a small summer residence on land donated by his father. The architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel was inspired by the ancient style and the idea for the murals came from the villas discovered during excavations in Pompeii and Herculaneum. There is an amazing room in the palace that reproduces the interior of a tent with blue and white striped fabrics.
