Time difference Berlin

It's very simple: France, Switzerland, Belgium and Germany are in the same time zone. On the other hand, if you're coming from Brest or Biarritz, you'll notice - because of the distance - a big difference between sunrise and sunset.

Opening hours Berlin

To see / To do Berlin

In Berlin, many museums are closed on Mondays, with the exception of a few like the Pergamon and the Neues Museum, which are open all week, often between 10am and 6pm. On Thursdays, the national museums hold their nocturne, staying open until 8pm. Some museums can be very busy on long weekends.

Closing of the Pergamon Museum. Berlin's most famous museum, considered one of the most important archaeological museums in the world, is closed for major renovations until 2037.

Enjoying yourself Berlin

Berlin restaurants are usually open all day long. Kitchens rarely close in the afternoon. As for brunch, it is usually offered until early afternoon.

Take a break Berlin

Unless they're also restaurants, Berlin's cafés close fairly early, around 6pm, and are usually open on Sundays. Bars tend to open around 7pm. Biergärten ( singular:Biergarten ), or beer gardens, are only open on sunny days.

(To) please yourself Berlin

Stores are usually closed on Sundays. Each year, the Berlin Senate sets 8 Sundays on which stores are allowed to open. These exceptional openings follow the city's calendar: the Berlinale or the Fête de la Musique, for example.

Get out Berlin

If you're going to the opera, be prepared to eat early, as shows often start around 7pm.

Berlin's nightclubs rarely open before midnight, unless they're open non-stop all weekend. From 1 a.m. onwards, the nightclubs become increasingly crowded, and between 1 and 3 a.m., be prepared for long queues.

Germany has a strange historical relic. On two days of the year, Good Friday and All Souls' Day, dancing is "forbidden"(Tanzverbot). But in Berlin, as you'd expect, the regulations are not strictly enforced.

Be warned: Berlin's nightlife addresses sometimes appear and disappear in the space of a few months, bars move on, clubs close before reopening in the form of a travelling party, etc. To get the most out of the German capital's nightlife, don't hesitate to consult the programs you'll find on the Internet.
