LUDWIG MUSEUM
Museum presenting a collection of the main trends in art, with a library and photo library.
This @ (new construction) of metal and concrete, opened in 1986, houses a museum of vital importance. The Ludwig Museum is a veritable temple dedicated to contemporary art. It would be tedious to list all the artists represented but the names of Pablo Picasso, Otto Ten or Gerhard Richter are good examples of this, and you will be aware of the extreme wealth of the collection which illustrates the main currents of art of the twentieth century. There are also the Die Brücke rooms and the Die Brücke movement. The ground floor is under the sign of the pop'art (Andy Warhol's amateurs will be filled!). Finally, much is reserved for artists in the last two decades. See absolutely. Also in the building, a library of art, a photo library containing photographs of the Rhine region, the Agfa Foto-Historama, a collection devoted to the history of photography, one of the most important in the world.
