Mölln is located not far from Ratzeburg and is adjacent to many small lakes and the canal connecting the Elbe to Lübeck. A famous character, who attracts tourists, was born here. This is Till Eulenspiegel, also known as Till the Mischievous, a legendary character, a sort of cheeky buffoon in a colorful costume and a headdress with bells on it. The tourist office maintains, based on its documentation, that this character did exist: he was born in 1300 and died in 1350 on the spot, as attested by the tombstone outside the Nikolaikirche. In any case, the town with its half-timbered and red brick houses surrounded by water is worth a visit.
