It is the tourist centre of the Spreewald. Located 82 km from Berlin, Lubbenau deserves its success: it is an adorable village. In Sorbian, they call it Lubnjow. It is located on the edge of the Spreewald Biosphere, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city has based most of its economy on the tourism sector. The region offers a good weekend getaway for Berliners, joining other tourists from all over Germany. This influx has at least one positive side: the hotel offer is very wide, as is the entire tourist infrastructure. Boats are easily rented to explore the canals joining the Spree. You can escape the hordes to sail along the water, in the forest.
