Located in the Strait of the same name, the island of Ormuz is characterized by its geographical location, which is strategically important because of its position at the Persian Gulf outlet. Conquered in 1507 by the Portuguese, coveted by the Ottomans and then released from the Portuguese yoke in 1622, thanks to an alliance of Persia with England, the island contributes to the Iranian economy with the exploitation of the ochre, iron ore, copper, clay green and salt intended for export. Its coastal plain and shredded hills of different colors are very special landscapes. The island knows no precipitation, and in summer the heat is not bearable…Boat access from the pier of Bandar Abbas harbor opposite Taleqani Boulevard. Four to six boats per day depending on season.
