As Ontario's first capital (1792-1796), it has an old-world feel. This illustrious little city is full of history and modern attractions and is easily explored on foot or by bicycle. It's not called "Canada's prettiest city" for nothing! Many renowned inns, wineries, local shops, and farms with an abundance of fruit have made this beautiful area their home. Only 30 minutes from Niagara Falls, you can easily navigate between the two cities. If you're short on time, we recommend Niagara-on-the-Lake over Niagara Falls, but don't ignore the Falls.
