The village of Lakefield, located on the shores of Lake Katchewanooka ("the many rapids"), was first the seasonal camp terrain for the Amérindienne Amerindian nation. A walk in the historic area will take you to the old residences of Colonel Samuel Strickland (Manoir Reydon), Catherine Parr Traill and Margaret Laurence, as well as to the Christ Church Community Museum (Community Museum of Christ's Church).
