The two islands, North Twillingate and South Twillingate, connected by a bridge, are now attached to Newfoundland by a dike. They are home to a multitude of fishing hamlets nestled in the many coves of its scalloped coastline. Golden light, gentle hills, cliffs, beaches, coves, lakes covered with yellow lichen and an oily sea make up an ever-changing landscape. From the Long Point lighthouse at the northern end of the island, there is a superb view of the rocky islets. You can even see whales and icebergs since this area is one of the best observation posts.
