On a promontory jutting out into Trinity Bay, this village occupies a picturesque site amidst cultivated fields, overlooking the sheltered harbour, framed by rocks. It is a pleasure to walk through the streets, where the square houses surrounded by gardens have retained their old-fashioned character. Trinity, which prospered thanks to its fisheries, was, in 1615, the seat of the first maritime court of Canada, in charge of settling disputes between local fishermen and seasonal workers. Today, Trinity is a fishing and tourism town. It is also a good starting point for whale watching, present on the coast from May to August.
