Once part of the seigneury of Beauport, this municipality was, around 1820, an English-speaking agglomeration called Waterloo Settlement. It was not until 1989 that it was renamed Lac-Beauport, having previously been called Saint-Dunstan-du-Lac-Beauport. On the lakefront, in front of the marina, you will see the Gentian Park, born of a pact of friendship between the municipality and Sévrier and Grand Bornand in Haute-Savoie (France). People come to Lac-Beauport for the great outdoor activities it offers in all seasons and for its Entourage sur-le-Lac resort. For relaxation after exercise, Siberia Spa is an address of choice.
