In addition to the downtown station (also known as Gare du Palais), there are other stations in Sainte-Foy and Charny on the south shore of Quebec City. VIA Rail's new trains are available on certain routes between Montreal and Quebec City.

Take the opportunity to discover and combine the signposted bicycle networks located on either side of the shoreline. In winter, the movement of ice on the river is really impressive. Boarding takes place on the dock located a stone's throw from the Petit Champlain district and Place Royale.

Some ten airlines operate regional, national and international flights. Two public transit bus routes take you to Sainte-Foy (route 76) or downtown (route 80). The cost is $3.75 CAN each way, and there is no night service. Cabs serve the airport (fares start at : 18.15 CAN $ for Sainte-Foy and 41.40 CAN $ for downtown) as do Eva and Uber. Some hotels also offer a shuttle service.

The bus station is located in the same building as the train station, in the heart of the city (Lower Town sector). Five bus companies serve the station, including the two largest, Orléans Express (many daily connections with Montreal) and Intercar. Tickets can be purchased on site or online. There is also a small bus station in Sainte-Foy on Chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois. Several communities in the Quebec City area are also served by intercity buses.

Managed by the Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC), àVélo is a self-service electric-assist bicycle system. You can borrow a bike from one of the stations set up for the summer season, for a few hours or for the day (application downloadable from App Store and Google Play). It's extremely advantageous for people making short journeys each time. If you'd like to have a bike for your leisure time, we recommend you use a rental company. Please note that helmets are mandatory.
