Located above the 55th parallel north, just below the tree line, Kuujjuaq, the administrative center of Nunavik, is home to some 3,000 inhabitants, at least 75% of whom are Inuit. It's THE gateway to this oh-so-beautiful and exotic region of Arctic Quebec, and the starting point for the majority of adventure trips to Nunavik's most beautiful natural sites. Today, the village is a major service center: an airport, two large hotels, a restaurant, a canteen, two pubs, three general stores, a convenience store and a bank.
