LE SALON DAOMÉ

Club €€
5/5
1 review

It is stated bluntly: it is one of the best addresses in Montreal for electronic music. International DJs sometimes perform there, but residents are also very familiar with their business. All in a relaxed atmosphere and a rather surprising decoration, a mix of modernity and kitsch, completely faithful to their former address in the Plateau. The programme of events and guest artists is available on the Facebook page of the Daomé Salon (interesting promotions on some evenings, including free admission).

Welcome to this temple of underground music, which has attracted the most marginal of Montrealers over the years. Les Foufounes remains one of the places where originality dominates on every level. Themed evenings: Maudits Tuesdays (varied music from the 1950s to 2000), It's Lit Thursdays (top 40, dubstep, hip-hop, dancehall, EDM, house & afrobeat), #Foufs Saturdays (punk, hardcore, metal, alternative, etc.). Les Foufounes is also synonymous with live entertainment (programming on the website and Facebook page).

We keep talking about its atmosphere and the quality of its musical programming. It is divided into two parts: the Petit Campus, at the bottom, a medium-sized concert hall, and the Campus du haut, a large space equipped with a stage and a mezzanine. On this floor, there is also a bar-discotheque with a lively atmosphere that delights a young and diverse clientele. If you're not afraid to move, try retro Tuesdays!

A veritable salsa institution in Montreal for over 30 years. Whether you're in the first Steps of Latin or professional dance in this area, each of them uses its charms in this cruising bar. Needless to say, you do not need a partner: you will find several on site. Many mirrors, neon lights and illuminated dance floor: It's almost like the decor of Saturday Night Fever. DJs and orchestras book the evenings. An crowded dance trail, an buzzing atmosphere: perfect to get out between friends and celebrate!

Located in the heart of downtown, this nightclub is frequented by young English-speaking Montrealers, mainly students. The second floor features a large dance floor, two bars, VIP tables and the DJ platform, while the second floor has another bar and a more intimate VIP lounge area. Resident and guest DJs keep the well-prepared crowd dancing into the wee hours to the rhythms of house, R&B, hip-hop, Top 40 and Club Anthems. LA TULIPE

Club

La Tulipe, the little sister of Le National, hosts events and shows several evenings a week in this beautiful heritage building (former Dominion Theatre). Its Saturday dances delight the nostalgic of the 1980s, while Fridays beat to the rhythm of the best hits from 1990 to today. The atmosphere is festive in this place that the French seem to particularly appreciate. The "C'est extra" evenings regularly feature the great classics of French music (and it's free!).

FLYJIN

Club €€

A place with a very interesting concept. At the beginning of the evening, the premises serve as a restaurant serving tasty Asian-influenced dishes with a bar offering a wide selection of Japanese whiskies, sake, wines and exclusive Japanese beers. But as of 11pm, it's a whole different story! The lighting and the sound atmosphere metamorphose, the tables and chairs are subtly set aside to make way for a beautiful dance floor... where the crowd rushes in! A beautiful evening in two parts.

Since this rebirth, the club dedicated to underground electro music has gone back to the wild nights that made its reputation. A stage and seats have been added for the shows.
