Located in a former warehouse of the Angus railroad plants, the table of chef Marc-André Jetté (400 Coups, Chez L'Épicier, Laloux) and sommelier William Saulnier showcases Quebec products in a bistro formula with world accents. It can be interesting to combine several dishes in a shared formula, in order to taste as many delights as possible. A fine wine list to go with it all, as well as homemade beers (including Farmhouse Hoogan and Beaufort brewed at MaBrasserie) and private imports.

The O'Thym restaurant welcomes you in a warm and sober atmosphere, with its brick walls and its tables laid out like a café. The cuisine highlights quality Quebec products, from small local productions, through inventive seasonal dishes. The result: modern creations with original flavor combinations. Jerusalem artichoke with hemp and rabiole purée or lamb with cabbage, rutabaga, honey, ginger and miso are examples of what you can find at this table, which we highly recommend.

The Saloon has been one of the high points of the Village for more than 25 years. A trendy and very popular restaurant, it is mainly known for its creative local and international cuisine with generous portions. The choice is vast, from classic nachos to tartars, mac and cheese, poutine or various burgers, after sipping one of their many cocktails. The service is always courteous and efficient. And just to satisfy all the senses, DJs take over the decks in the evening for those who wish to stay up late!

We're in good hands at this attractive resto-bar set above an Asian grocery store. Poincaré's creators all come from well-known microbreweries, and the chef, who is passionate about lacto-fermentation, has come up with a number of small dishes and preserves (all made on the premises) to enjoy over a glass. Excellent wines and cocktails, in addition to a fine selection of beers. Try the fermented fries with shallot confit mayonnaise. The ideal place after a visit to Chinatown or before a show at the SAT.

Those familiar with the now-defunct Mezcla will recognize the touch of chef Marcel Larrea, who trained at Cordon Bleu and worked at Astrid & Gastón alongside legendary chef Gastón Acurio, both in Lima, Peru. The menu is as diverse as the bar's décor, offering ceviche, scallop and parmesan tiradito, dumplings, duck anticucho and other fusion delights. The cocktails include the Pisco Sour, reputed to be the best in town. A real treat!

Hochelaga, new gastronomic district? And why not? When you see the number of good restaurants nowadays installed in this less frequented area of the city, it's a good place to go for a walk. Le Flamant promises a creative experience on the plate and in the glass, in a relaxed atmosphere. The menu features revisited classics that change with each new arrival. In a simple and unpretentious decor, we share several tasty dishes after a good original cocktail, served in an equally original glass.

A crazy address in Montreal! You only have to see the lamps hanging from the ceiling to understand that everything is possible here, both in terms of decoration and food. The old mannequins and the walls decorated with buttons remind us of the old haberdashery that occupied the place. Bonus: the bay window overlooking the street, the beautiful terrace in season and a "lovers' lounge" for an intimate meal. On the plate, quality is not to be outdone. The subtle sweet and sour combinations and the enhancement of the leg of lamb, duck or game will delight the gourmets.

This bistro will seduce you with its cuisine and its setting. Those who sit at the bar can watch the cooks at work. The decor is original, with numerous bottles hanging from the ceiling. In the evening, the menu includes Korean beef tartare, creamy morels and wild boar chop with anchovies, capers and lemon. But the menu is constantly evolving, so the best way to get an idea is to drop in and be surprised by chef Maksim Morin's creations.

Beautiful small unpretentious square with brick wall, recycled lamps and retro furniture. Very much in the spirit of the neighborhood! According to some, Tuck Shop has a little je-ne-sais-quoi reminiscent of the Monkland Tavern in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce district in its early days. Not surprising when you learn that some of the old-timers from this address work here, in the kitchen and in the dining room. The slate displays wild mushrooms, duck breast, saddle of rabbit, Icelandic cod, organic salmon and other small dishes depending on the arrivals. Good little address!

At Pastaga, we put Quebec on the plate with local products and dishes of varied inspiration. But we're also in a wine bar, with a beautiful 100% natural menu. This "appellation" refers to those small estates where the vintner-peasant takes care of all the stages of production, from the vine to the bottling, using no chemical treatment of the vines and soils, and no inputs into the winemaking process. In short, as you will have understood, the emphasis here is on proximity and quality.

The place to find it is, of course, at La Belle Tonki, the meeting point of Cambodian, Vietnamese and Quebecois cultures. This fusion restaurant, right down to the chopsticks, offers delicious phô, banh-mi burgers, cheese ramen and poutine. Unheard of as it may seem, it's a successful bet!
