The village of Les Escoumins remains picturesque in its magnificent bay. It is a popular spot for scuba diving enthusiasts. We recommend a visit to the Marine Environment Discovery Centre, which will plunge you into the underwater world of the St. Lawrence. The centre is also an excellent site for whale watching, but dress warmly to take full advantage. In the summer, on the evenings of the full moon, open-air jazz concerts are held at the centre, right on the banks of the river. Note that it is possible to reach the Lower St. Lawrence from Les Escoumins, a ferry leading to Trois-Pistoles on the south shore of the river.
