Located 5 kilometers south of Caen, the commune is bordered by various hillsides near the Orne river. Two notable historical monuments are to be observed: the bell tower of the church Notre-Dame de Basse-Allemagne (listed as a historical monument) and the house at n° 71 rue Saint-André (listed as a historical monument). An archaeological site was excavated in 2014, it has extracted several monumental burials dating from the Neolithic (4500 BC). It is now occupied by dwellings.
