Last stop at the mouth of the Saguenay, opposite Tadoussac, the village looks out to sea. Here, Route 138 stops before continuing on the other side of the fjord, on the North Shore. A free ferry provides the link 24 hours a day. Rich in its pioneer past, the village, built on a plateau of sand and clay, is at the intersection of the Saguenay River, now a fjord, and the waters of the St. Lawrence. It is from here - and from Tadoussac - that the most beautiful whale-watching and fjord-exploration cruises depart. Stop by the Pointe-Noire Interpretation and Observation Centre, where you're sure to see belugas!
