Historic cemetery, the only one in the province of British Columbia to have remained in its original state in Victoria.
Victoria's historic cemetery dates back to 1872, during the Victorian era, and has been in operation ever since. Now managed by the City of Victoria, it is the only cemetery in the Province of British Columbia that has remained in its original state. The Ross Bay Cemetery is home to the graves of all of Victoria's great figures (including the famous artist and painter Emily Carr, or James Douglas, the "Father of British Columbia"). It is located on the oceanfront and its view offers a taste of paradise.
