The town rose from the sands between 1860 and 1864 on the initiative of the Duc de Morny, half-brother of Napoleon III. One of France's most prestigious seaside resorts, with its casino, racetracks, colorful umbrellas and listed half-timbered villas, Deauville is nonetheless a jewel that reveals its facets in every season. A city of culture, it hosts a multitude of festivals as well as sporting events. Come and (re)discover the little favorite of all the arts, with your feet in the water and your head close to the stars. There are the boards, the sky and the sea... That's more than enough to keep us happy.
