Between the Sangha and Oubangui rivers, 85 km as the crow flies from Impfondo, a blue, green or glistening disc appears from the air: you're flying over Lake Télé. The lake is thought to have originated from a meteorite, but this is still a matter of debate. Despite its perfect roundness, its 5 km diameter and 6 km length, located some 30 km from Epéna, in a region where forests and swamps make access very difficult, Lac Télé doesn't really get people talking, and is often overlooked on general maps of the Congo. Except that the lake is the supposed refuge of the Mokélé-mbembé, a dinosaur from the secondary zone that has strayed into communist Congo.
