Travel Guide Fondwa

Halfway between Leogâne and Jacmel, Fondwa, a small local section of 8 000 inhabitants, is the ideal place to make a stopover. After the last back-of-âne, a road on the left rises to the Dit, where you can enjoy a Magnificent view of Jacmel Bay in the south and Leogâne Bay in the north. A few metres further, the remains of a former colonial fort dominate the region. The very welcoming inhabitants of Fondwa will show you the road with great pleasure. The visit of the coffee factory at the edge of the road is possible (the opening days vary depending on the amount of coffee), with a little luck, you can enjoy excellent coffee. Close to the factory, the Fondwa shopping centre houses a bakery, a restaurant and a Fonkoze bank.
