A picturesque village, typically augerous. A postcard image with its meadows, cows under apple trees, church and small town hall. Its sixteenth century castle (1584), its mansions, including Manoir des Quatre Saisons of the Eighteenth Century), private properties, are inscribed under Historical Monuments. The commune, crossed by the river Anchre, opens on the marshes of the Dives. Rich in hills and grasslands, it has no fewer than 16 known places or "gaps", the butte of Bassebourg, culminating in a hundred meters. From there, the panorama is grandiose, offering an incredible landscape with loss of sight on the marshes and the estuary of the Dives, the plain of Caen, the Normandy coast, the birth of the plain of Falaise… Fabulous!
