Covering an area of some 67,000 hectares, it is the most important protected marine park in the country, and the first to be created as well! Created in 2003 with the aim of preserving the fauna, it owes its name to the Chilean writer Francisco Coloane whose inspirations are rooted in Chilean Patagonia. A land of legends and mysteries, this park has a very interesting geographical character as it is located at the crossroads of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. In season, you can easily observe a lot of humpback whales of about fifteen meters. Little known, it is nevertheless one of the most fascinating places of this region
