THE TIBETAN KITCHEN
Read moreThis is one of the best restaurants in Leh. Everything on the menu is to be recommended, but our preference is for tandoor cooked dishes (kebabs, chicken tikka), Tibetan specialties like mutton momos, kothays (half steamed, half friedmomos), shabalay or avocado soup. If you like fish, trout is also on the menu when the road to Manali is open. Possibility to sit on the terrace or in the dining room when the evenings are still cool. Friendly and professional service.
LAMAYURU RESTAURANT
Read moreA young and relaxed atmosphere in this restaurant where you can find Western and Indian tourists. The room is pleasant and the menu varied (Tibetan, Indian, Chinese, pizza, pasta, etc.). The other establishment located on Main Bazaar offers exclusively vegetarian cuisine.
GESMO'S RESTAURANT
Read morePerfect to start the day on the right foot! Foreign tourists and Indians regularly meet in this friendly restaurant run by dynamic and friendly young people. For breakfast, you will be spoilt for choice: muesli, egg-bacon, toast, cakes, pancake, tea, coffee, juice... For the afternoon snack you can choose from many homemade cakes and cookies. For lunch, you can enjoy momos, salads, burgers, pizzas, sizzlers and other Indian and Tibetan dishes. It is carefully presented and the service is professional.
BON APPETIT
Read moreLe Bon Appetit is the most chic restaurant in town. The place has a unique atmosphere and a terrace with a superb view. Let's be clear: the setting is nice but the menu is limited and a bit pretentious. To the Indian dishes, good but not more, prefer the European cuisine(fish & chips, lasagne, pasta, bruschettas, burgers). Forget also the pizzas, which are small and not very filling. For dessert, we highly recommend the delicious chocolate momos. And bon appétit, of course!
HAPPY WORLD RESTAURANT
Read moreBad luck for the undecided ones, the choice is so vast that they will take some time to choose a dish. Madame Lamo offers Indian, Chinese, Tibetan, Italian, Mexican, Thai specialties... There is something for everyone. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes available. For breakfast, too, the options are numerous. The dishes are copious, the stomachs will be satiated, however the service is very slow, because everything is prepared to order. You have to be patient! Pleasant atmosphere.
DOGRA DHABA
Read moreLocated in a small recess before the Gesmo Restaurant, just in front of the Yak Tail Hotel. We would tend to hide this small canteen, and it would be a pity! The setting is ordinary but the food is delicious. Specialties cooked in the tandoor, chicken tikka, mutton, biryanis, vegetarian dishes, different kinds of naan... It's also a place to go if you like spicy Indian breakfasts... Friendly service. Besides, the locals are not mistaken, this small dhaba is often full!
