TOY TRAIN KALKA-SHIMLA

This line of 96 kilometers, inaugurated on November 9, 1903, leaves Kalka (Haryana) to reach Shimla, 5h30 later and 656 meters higher. It is registered with the world heritage of Unesco since September 2007. The route is absolutely enchanting: bridges, tunnels, magnificent landscapes, small charming stations, good-natured atmosphere in the cars... The cruising speed does not exceed 30 km/h. This trip is a fabulous experience! The Rail Motor Car, more picturesque, is a kind of locomotive-bus made up of a single carriage.
