A walk of barely one hour leads to this small village inhabited mostly by the Bhotias, an ethnic Albanian of Tibeto-Mongolia (Bhot meaning «Tibet») converted to Hinduism. Even though the corrugated sheet and the plaster increasingly replace slate and old stones, Mana kept Some authenticity. It is not uncommon, in turn of a venelle, to observe with wonder small houses with wooden balconnets, characteristic of Himalayan architecture. Women still wear the traditional costume, and their collars proudly display impressive canine canine on the felidae that were populated over a few years ago. The last snow leopard was observed in the region in 1983. If the Bhotias once again arpentaient the Himalayan pathways to trade with Tibet, they are now reduced to following "tourism routes". Men transport Indian visitors (old, women, disabled, but also lazy) on their back, in large wicker baskets. A beautiful walk along a stone trail leads to the waterfalls of Vasudhara, 44 m high. On the way (at the very beginning) you will find a few sadhus living in tiny caves. Take 5 hours to complete the return. From the falls, by borrowing the left valley (but there is a permit) over 16 km, you will reach the sacred lake deSatopanth, considered by Hindus as the gateway to the paradise. Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu would have reflected on them.Accommodation. Summary comfort to Mana! You will find rooms (150-200 Rs) at the level of the two gargotes located at the top right of the village. The view from the large terrace is magnificent, and it is far from the agitation of the ardent Badrinath that the spirit is getting wandering well beyond the borders of Tibet.Shopping. The women of Mana draw up beautiful tisser carpets and blankets of goat hairs. A small stand on the terrace of the ndaxté proposes, but they are more expensive than those you can find by going directly into the houses. Count between 1 000 and 2 000 Rs for a carpet.
