The capital of Sikkim is a long city on a mountainside. A lot of traffic and many buildings make it unattractive. Nevertheless, it's a good starting point for trekking, and the heart of the town, which revolves around a central pedestrian street (M.G. Marg), is extremely pleasant and commercial.
