210 km south of Bhopal. The "Queen of Satpura", a high-altitude resort perched at 1,067 m, is a pleasant holiday destination for those wishing to escape the heat of the plains. Accommodation here is expensive, even very expensive, from April to July and during festive periods (Diwali, end of year, holi...). However, the region abounds in waterfalls and natural sites. Satpura National Park is home to a number of tigers and panthers.The Chauragarh temple, dedicated to Shiva, perched on a hill 1,300 m above sea level, is well worth a visit.
