42 km south of Jodhpur, the small town stretches along the Luni River. Renowned for its handicrafts specializing in ironwork, pottery and woodworking, the town draws people from the surrounding area to it. Like all the villages in the region, Luni has several temples dedicated to minor gods or saints, like the one dedicated to Baba Ramdev. The fort built by Kaviraj Muraridanji, minister of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, is now a luxury hotel.
