The exception in Rajasthan! Mount Abu is the only climatic resort in the state, perched at an altitude of 1 200 meters. It attracts many Indian tourists who come to take a breath of fresh air alongside the 22,000 inhabitants of the city. It especially attracts a large number of Gujarati alcohol lovers, who can quench their thirst in the many bars and wine shops of the city. The sale of alcohol is indeed forbidden in Gujarat. At the top of a mountain out of nowhere, as in Palitana or Junagadh in Gujarat, the summit vibrates to the sound of Jain bells. An important pilgrimage site, the city has some of the most sumptuous temples in India. Considered the "Switzerland" of Rajasthan, Mount Abu is a refreshing stopover with a mild (if not cool) climate and beautiful scenery. The popular Nakki Lake is the hub of the city. Avoid the festive season, like Holi or Diwali and weekends when Gujaratis come to party, because then the prices go up sharply.
