With the territorial reform, Thury-Harcourt became a "commune déléguée" within the new commune of Le Hom in 2016. Nevertheless, the heart of the town continues to beat as before, preserving its traditionally friendly, commercial character. The town suffered greatly in June and July 1944, as evidenced by its Reconstruction architecture. There are few ancient monuments, but that doesn't matter, because nestling in the Orne valley, Thury-Harcourt has been spoiled by Mother Nature and has turned to outdoor activities. Don't miss the Boucle du Hom, a beautiful and extremely rare natural curiosity - there are only two "omegas" of this type in France.
