Before the Tichka pass was practicable, it is by this splendid track that the caravans passed from Ouarzazate to Marrakech. The track follows the course of the oued Ounila from the magnificent kasbah of Anminter. You should be accompanied or have the route to Aït Benhaddou drawn up, 50 km further on, as there are many crossroads and no indication at all. Km 10. From the kasbah of Glaoui. Arrival at the village of Anminter. The hill, difficult to climb, is often crowded with cows and chickens. On the other side of the mound, you have to ride in the wadi for about 300 m and the track starts on your left, a little further. Km 12. Angliz. Km 14. take the bridge on your left, then continue straight ahead towards Touracing whose roofs can be seen below, in the oasis that borders the wadi. Km 18, from there begins a succession of oases. In each oasis, a kasbah with crenellated ramparts made of red adobe surrounds the village mosque : Agaha, Tizgue, Tarakoucht. Km 24. Oasis of Tigirt : breathtaking. Km 31. Azmerou. Km 45. Tamdart village. Km 48. Aït Benhaddou. Tamda lake (2 167 m). It takes about 4 hours of walking, from Télouet, to reach the lake. We go up the Ounila wadi to its source, following what used to be the extension of the caravan road to the north, the Tizi n'Télouet. The landscape becomes more and more stony and austere. At the lake, a refuge allows to continue further, towards the massif of M' Goum.
