Located between Rabat and Larache, this city of some 430,000 inhabitants (known as Port-Lyautey before 1958) is the country's sixth-largest port. Although not very touristy, Kénitra is a lively city, as it is home to several universities. So you'll find accommodation, restaurants, bars and nightclubs in the city center. It's also very easy to get to, both by car via the freeway and by bus, as well as by train. If you have time, you can also enjoy Mehdia beach and the Sidi Boughaba lake nature reserve, renowned for its many bird species.
