A link between Caen and its port, Ouistreham, the Canal Latéral à l’Orne provides a towpath to the sea. Well-known to Caennais, this route passes at the foot of the famous Pegasus Bridge, whose museum you can visit. The bay of the Orne also offers an interesting bird sanctuary on its eastern shore (commune of Merville-Franceville-Plage). This greenway is an ideal starting point for cycling to Portsmouth and the English cycle network.
