LA PETITE AUBERGE DES ILES

World cuisine restaurant
3.5/5
2 reviews

Here, by the marina, you'll find a blend of French and Caribbean flavors. The menu offers the same traditional dishes as most local restaurants, but the accompaniments are much more delicate. The local lobster is served as a duo with pan-fried foie gras and a raspberry sauce, and the duo of breaded triggerfish fillet and lambis fritters is served copiously. A golden opportunity to enjoy fine Creole cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.

The atmosphere is relaxed and colorful, thanks to the madras tablecloths. A specialist in lambi fricassee, she also prepares local fish(mahi-mahi, snapper...) very well, either fried or grilled, which she buys from the fishermen at the nearby market. As for breakfast, you should try the boiled green banana.

The focus is on Breton specialties, especially galettes and crêpes. Since 2016, Mr. Lavoisey and his team have been offering a warm welcome, with buckwheat galettes, sweet crêpes and daily specials. We discuss the news announced in the local papers right from breakfast and take advantage of the WiFi connection. It's always a good time to take a cool and unpretentious break on the road to Grand-Case. This roadside restaurant offers family-friendly food cooked by locals. Betty puts her heart into her homemade meals. It is not really a "lolo" but the simple side of the menu with a limited choice reminds us of it. The address is not touristy and it is so much the better because you will meet locals who talk about business and facts of the island. There is nothing like it to get to know the "real" Saint Martin.
