About kilometres north of Mokolo, on the wrong track leading to Mora, lies the small village of Koza, a green oasis in a rocky and arid environment. In its surroundings you will notice the many squares of the Matakam, on the flanks of the hills, recognizable with their sharp roof. Their construction is a real work of artisan. These boxes are more the work of potters with remarkable know-how than architects. To build them, the Matakams use a little water, stones, millet, wood, and especially a lot of clay land. Sometimes, several boxes are grouped in the same place, this is a mountain saré. You can see some blacksmiths at work or craftsmen moulding large terracotta pots designed to contain mil beer. Not far from the village of Koza is the pass of the same name, located at 400 m above sea level, an essential step for those who go from Mokolo to Mora. At the level of the Col Pass, you can admire the magnificent landscape. In a dry and rocky setting, where there are some trees and there are huge granite blocks in the colors of the earth, stacked each other. In the middle of the terraces arranged by the villagers, they give a delicate balance threatening to break at any time. These granite blocks are found throughout the road leading to Rhumsiki and even beyond.
