Šišava/Шишава (pronounced "chichava") has about 150 inhabitants, 85% of whom are Bosniaks, and belongs to the municipality of Travnik. The village is 22 km northwest of Travnik (or 28 km in winter via Turbe). There are two bus connections per day to Travnik.Home to the ski resort of Vlašić, this village is perched at 1,265 m above sea level, at the foot of Mount Paljenik (1,933 m). Šišava comes alive especially in winter with five months of snow and thousands of skiers. In summer, the shepherds prepare the artisanal cheese of Vlašić, which can be purchased locally. There is also honey, hiking trails and plenty of places to sleep and eat.
