Donja Drežnica, 700 inhabitants, belongs to the municipality of Mostar. The village is located 24 km south of Jablanica (M17 and local road) and 34 km northwest of Mostar (M17 and local road).Embedded in the valley of the Drežanka River, a tributary of the Neretva River, this mid-mountain village (250 m above sea level) can be reached by the first bridge after Čitluk, on the left when coming from Mostar. Donja Drežnica is famous for its medieval remains. Was indeed discovered here "the inscription of Mastan Bubanjić" (Natpis Mastana Bubanjića): a stone engraved with the name of this 14th century duke and his two sons Radoslav and Miroslav indicating their suzerainty ties with the city-state of Ragusa (Dubrovnik). On the heights of the village, at the place called Crkvina, a necropolis from the end of the 14th century gathers the ruins of a chapel and 17 stećci of the Bosnian Church (or Bogomilian movement) with, in particular, four beautiful stone crosses engraved with weapons, crosses, figures and a rider. Around the village, beautiful (cool) swimming is possible, and the river is full of trout. The road continues for 14 km to the west along the Drežanka River, this time with a truly mountainous landscape until Gornja Drežnica (1000 inhabitants - 508 m above sea level). This village is one of the entrances to the Blidinje Nature Park (Park prirode Blidinje), which covers 364 km² with the lake of the same name and Mount Čvrsnica reaching 2,228 m above sea level.
